I have been creating these boxes for many years, and I am delighted to now be sharing my approach and techniques which have been refined over time to make these little boxes something really special to treasure and love!
Suitable for all skill levels this is a class that will ignite SO many ideas you won't want to just stop at one - let's create together and begin your textile journey!
Questions?
Here are a few questions answered for you , but please don't hesitate to ask me if you want some more info before diving in!
Supplies - Got none? That's ok...a full list of supplies used is available to preview, but you do NOT need to invest in a lot of expensive items.
The beauty of creating in this way is that you can use a variety of found or thrifted items.
That being said -
It's good to have a decent pair of scissors and couple of sewing needles, plus some sort of interfacing and padding ( I'll talk more about that in the class.)
Apart from that, just ask your friends and family for scraps of fabric, old jewellery and yarns or thread... you will soon have enough interesting and unique items to begin your journey.
No experience ?!
New to sewing?
Unsure of your sewing ability?
That's ok!
If you can cut a piece of fabric and sew a single stitch then you CAN do this workshop.
Everything is broken down and there are no complex stitches used.
Do I need a sewing machine?
Nope - this whole project is done with hand stitch only.
I do not use a sewing machine in any part of this step by step demo because I wanted to make it clear it wasn't needed.
(machine sewing is optional in places which I will mention in the class)
