About This Class
In the Treasure Box Workshop, we will embark on a creative journey that will teach you how to design and decorate your own unique treasure box.
Here are a few basic questions answered before we start -
Little or no sewing experience? No problem! I have made sure to create step by step directions and demonstrated each stage - if you can cut a square and make a stitch then you can do this class!
No sewing machine? No problem! I made it a point to use only hand stitching throughout this whole class . ( If you have a machine there are points at which you can use it but you do NOT NEED to.)
Supplies - a full list of supplies is given which you can preview before enrollment .
Got none? That's ok!
The beauty of creating in this way is that you can use a variety of found or thrifted items. You will not need a whole bunch of expensive supplies to complete this class - in fact , I encourage that you gather up oddments to make your box as unique and individual as you are.
Starting from scratch?
It's good to have a decent pair of scissors and couple of sewing needles. and some soft of interfacing and padding ( I'll talk about that in the class.)
Apart from that, ask your friends and family for scraps of fabric, old jewellery and yarns or thread... you will soon have enough interesting and unique items to begin.
Newbie? Not sure of your sewing ability?
Trust me-If you can cut a square of fabric and sew a single stitch then you CAN do this workshop.
I do not use a sewing machine in any part of this step by step demo ( although you CAN in places if you wish) but I deliberately avoided it to show that it's not necessary for this project.
Is there a special social media group for this class?
Please share your work from this class in my Facebook group HERE . You are also welcome to share any other creative endeavours , I love to see what everyone is working on! You can also tag me on Instagram any time (sujati_art_studio) . You can also post questions or ideas, I always love to hear from you!
I don't tend to create separate groups for each class, because, honestly, we all have way too many groups to keep up with already right and it just gets confusing - plus it's far more exciting to have a wide range of creativity happening all in one place!
